Palmistry is the art of reading character and destiny from the shape of the hand and the lines of the palm. It is not merely fortune-telling but about knowing yourself that what you are and where you are going. The palm gives us a map of our life and it is up to us to make the most of it. Through self-awareness we can shape our fate and affect our future. 

 

 

Palmistry is all about taking control of our life by bringing balance in our body, mind and soul, by understanding our strengths and weaknesses, through interpreting the general characteristics of hands together with the study of the lines, their patterns and other formation and marks, which appear on the palm and fingers.

 

Suspicious approach about palmistry is existing from the old age, and even still exists in many countries of the world including Pakistan. In the past palmistry was wrongly associated with magic or witchcraft and anything that could not be reasonably or logically explained was immediately put down to sorcery, witchcraft, magic or some kind of association with the devil. But now this thinking had disappeared because of enormous scientific advancement made towards the knowledge and its benefits.

 

Superstitious attitude towards palmistry is also an old story. The most common superstition made towards palmistry is that "palm lines are just folds or creases in the skin where the hand moves, grasps or bends". But palm lines are not simply caused by folding of the hand which can be understood by following examples:

1. If lines are result of hand folds, then more you use your hand, the more lines should appear on your hand. But this is not the case, rather fact is completely opposite to it.

2. Further If lines are result of hand folds, the lines of palm should only be available where hand is bending or folding and not elsewhere. But again this is not the case and we can find lines on palm in every part and direction.

    

3. Further compare the lines on the palm to other 'crease lines' on the body e.g. elbow / back of knee / wrist. These 'crease' lines aren't as well defined as the lines on the palm. If you stretch out your arm the elbow crease becomes fainter, but stretch your hand and the palm lines appear stronger. There are no markings on the elbow or other creases such as we see on the lines of the hand - (how could the markings be caused by folding?). There are lines on the hand where the skin doesn't fold, and places where the hand folds but there is no distinct line.
    

4. If the lines were caused by folding, why do most of us have two "transverse creases" (Head & Heart lines) on our palms instead of one (Simian line)? Manual workers, who use their hands a lot, usually have fewer lines than people who do sedentary jobs. Also, most of us have more lines on our passive hands the one we don't write with) yet it is used (moved / folded) less than the active hand.

 

It is in evitable that palmistry should reflect current religious ideology of the time and there have been times in history when any form of divination was considered to be totally unacceptable. This was particularly the case in Pakistan years ago when palmistry was considered a crafty means to deceive people and deemed to be the work of the devil, causing the practice to be banned and outlawed by the religion. In prohibiting the practice, further serious research declined, and forced to go underground.

 

 

Many people discourage palmistry from religious point of view because of one of its aspects "future telling". Future telling is understandably not possible and allowed in Islam. But it needs to be understood that palmistry is not mere future telling. Future telling is just an aspect of palmistry and not whole palmistry.

 

Further palmist can just forecast and not foretell. Palmistry forecast is just like weather forecast which is mostly true but not always true. So you can trust palmistry forecast like weather forecast, but might not get assured about any particular forecast.

 

 

It is believed that the lines of hands are electrical diagram of the brain and every line on our hand is the current of a certain center of our brain. In easy words we can say that lines on our hand are the thoughts of our subconscious mind.

 

Our body shape and movement are affected greatly by our emotional energy. A person with depression has a body that looks depressed. He stands and moves in a way that we easily recognize that he is depressed. On the other hand, we can easily recognize a person who feels happy. We hold and move our body to signal others how we feel. This ability to consciously or subconsciously send and read body language is a universal trait developed by humans and many animals. Body signals are displayed in ever changing patterns as our energy changes. Whether we want to or not, every second our body is signalling to the world our needs, wants, fears, pleasures, and unconscious feelings. These different energy patterns are most easily recognizable in the face and hands.

 

 

The modern theory is that the lines of the hand represent graphic shorthand of the circuits of the brain. The nerve group that controls the hands is exactly in the centre of the brain, and all the electrical energies of our thinking pass through it. palmists feel that the lines on the hand are formed in some relation to thought patterns, nerve linkages, or even chromosomal structures.

There is a strong relation between hand and brain. The hand cannot perform a single action without the brain, and there are more nerves from the brain to the hand than to any other part of the body. Hand and the brain are interconnected on very fundamental levels’ since the hand can be viewed as a small model of the brain.

The dominant hand develops faster and records the various changes that occur during our lives. The subordinate hand doesn't develop as fast, so we can truly say that our subordinate hand shows that what luck we were born with, where we have been and what we started with, while our active hand shows that what we are now and where we are likely to go in our life. So both hands are important.

 

 

Advance in genetics, psychology and foreign sciences have pushed Palmistry into the modern age. Especially in the last two hundred years or so, hand reading has seen many new developments, and there now exist other important aspect of hand reading that are not related to any form of prediction, and not restricted to reading only the lines in the palms.

 

In fact many modern hand readers believe in the idea of free will, with behaviour pattern being largely responsible for creating future possibilities. It is widely believed that if we can alter our behaviour and our attitude, the chances are we can also alter our possible future. A great deal has been documented on the power of positive and negative thinking and its ability to attract equally positive and negative results. It is now generally accepted that the future is not set in stone and that destiny is not already decided. Our attitude to life, and our own reaction to the circumstances around us all can have a strong effect on our experience as we move through life.

 

 

These days palmistry is well accepted throughout the world. Professional palmists are found reading palms in every country in the world. Palmistry can forecast the future of an individual authentically. In the present day modern world, it would be very helpful for a person if his future is known. It would be easier for him to reach his destined destination. For this purpose we need an authentic and reliable science, which can tell the complete past and to fore- see.

 

 

In Pakistan Palmistry is still very much as unknown subject. Many people do not truly understand what palmistry involves, and have little or no knowledge of modern hand reading practices. Fortunately this attitude is gradually disappearing as man discovers more about this physical and spiritual nature, and as knowledge of hand reading and its benefits become more widely understood.

 

 

The only problem palmistry is confronting these days is, those non-professionals and charlatan who have no or very little knowledge of the subject and are giving false readings to the people, which mostly based on their judgment and intuition, and eventually causing the subject to fall into disrepute.

 

Just reading a book or taking a weekend course is not enough background to turn "professional". In fact, numerous Palmistry books published in the past 30 years are filled with obvious errors, having been written by incompetent analysts who failed to verify their methods or theories. Under no circumstances should we ever pay any money or reward to an unqualified reader, nor should we believe any part of their analysis without verification.

 

 

There are two types of fake & fraud palmists.

• The first kind is the person who wrongly believes that he is of sufficient skill and knowledge to be a professional palmist.

• The second type is the person who is absolute fraud and knows the he does not have any knowledge of palmistry. This type is more common

• who  and is far more common than you might think.

The type of fake & fraud palmist you meet does not matter, what matters is that they have insufficient skill and knowledge to be able to properly guide and advise you.

 

 

The top warning signs that you can find in fake palmist are:

• He reads hand from hand itself instead of handprints.

• He reads only one hand, usually right instead of both hands.

• He promises to read your future in free time or next meeting.

• He keeps the palmistry part of their reading to a very little duration.

• He reads the same lines for each client Head, Heart, Life, Luck and Marriage, usually in same order.

• He talks about any "black magic", "evil-eye" or "curse" on you, and offer to remove it against extra fee.

• He can be a jack of all trades like palmistry, astrology, numerology, tarot, crystals and aura, but master of none.

 

Although palmistry can tell a lot about a person by examining his or her hands, there should not be claim that any palmist can tell all the things very correctly every time. I suspect that those who think they are 100% correct in their readings are guilty of being wrong. The complexity of the many combinations of features found in the hands tends to make palmistry a life long study.
